Cables

Cables (also known as cords or connectors) are used to transmit power or transfer data between electronic devices. The two most common computer-related cables are power and data cables. While power cables deliver the electricity necessary to charge devices, data cables let electronic devices transfer data among themselves. Some examples of data cables are USB, AUX, VGA, DisplayPort, and HDMI.

DisplayPort cable

DisplayPort cables are designed to deliver video and audio over a single cable. They connect a video source with a display source, such as laptops, desktops, multi-stream hubs, or multi-display monitors.

USB-A to USB-C cable

A USB-A to USB-C cable is used to connect USB type-C-enabled devices, such as MacBooks, Chromebooks, and smartphones, with USB type-A-enabled devices, such as laptops and hard drives. These cables, if capable of power delivery, can utilize a USB type-A source to charge and transfer data between USB Type-C-enabled devices.

DisplayPort to HDMI cable

The DisplayPort to HDMI cable is a useful accessory for video streaming or gaming. It transmits high-definition audio and video from your computer to an HD display. The cable directly connects any laptop or desktop computer with a DisplayPort output to a monitor, projector, or HDTV with HDMI input.

USB-C to USB-C cable

USB-C to USB-C cables connect USB type-C enabled devices, such as smartphones and computers, to other USB type-C devices and accessories such as a smartphone, charging adapters, and multi-port adapters. The reversible USB type-C connector at both ends also enables quick and easy data transfers and high charging speeds.

USB-B to USB-A cable

USB-B to USB-A cables are used to connect large devices, such as printers and scanners, to your computer. The type-B connector plugs into the printer, scanner, or other devices, and the type-A connector into the standard USB port on your computer.

Aux cable

An aux cable is a portable unit that connects your smartphone to an amplifier, home theater, car stereo, and external speakers. It usually comes with a 3.5 mm jack on both ends. Today, it's common to find aux cables with different connectors at one of their ends, like a lightning connector or a 3-way splitter.

Aux extension cable

Aux extension cable extends the connection from a media source to an audio device. The cable connects to 3.5 mm jacks at both ends, such as headphones to your smartphone, a car sound system to your phone and portable speakers to your laptop.

VGA-to-VGA cable

A VGA-to-VGA cable is used to link a computer to a display device. One end of the VGA cable is attached to the port offered by the computer, and the other to the port in the display device. The video card transmits video display signals via the VGA cable, which are then projected onto the display device.

HDMI-to-HDMI cable

An HDMI-to-HDMI cable is used for simultaneously transmitting digital video and audio from a source, such as a computer or TV, to a computer monitor, TV or projector. It also acts as a network cable and allows for the transmission of internet data at high speeds with better bandwidth.

Micro USB cable

Micro USB cables are used for charging portable electronic devices and transferring data between devices. Fast-charging micro USB cables connect smartphones and other electronic devices to chargers. Typically, micro USB cables are used to transfer data from a digital camera to a computer.
